I am in this world
To do the will of my Lord
That which is pleasing
     In the sight of Him
That paid the price for my sins
Who bought my life with a price ~
     His precious divine blood.

And if along the line
     I do other things ~
Eat, drink, be merry,
     Prosper in business and in
          Play or pleasure
But never loosing sight of
     His purpose, His will
Never going astray from the path
But always, fundamentally
     His will to seek,
          His duty to perform,
               His joy to seek
Then at the end of life,
I can look back on a life
Well spent and forward to a reward
Of life eternal from Him who I served

If I live in this world
As if it is the only reality
Forgetting that all here
     In this plane of existence
          Is vanity
Making my aim, my goal,
     The seeking of the pleasures
          Of this world,
Working to satisfy these pleasures
Which are but for a time

And if the time permits
     Or I am chanced
          Or find it convenient
To do the will of my Lord,
     With the least effort expendable
     At the lowest cost possible
     And at the least inconvenience

Then what have I planted
     Towards eternity
What will be my reward in heaven
What then is my hope -
     In the life after death.

For to be carnally minded is death but to be spiritually minded is life and peace
